Drainage and highways

As some of you will be aware, Bellway commissioned a further drainage survey as part of their due diligence prior to the resurfacing of The Fairway taking place. Whilst we had anticipated this was just for a “belt and braces” sign off, this has unfortunately flagged up a handful of areas that need addressing prior to the final section of surfacing taking place. These areas had unfortunately not shown up on a previous survey. Work to address these areas (between 3 and 15 The Fairway) is currently underway.

As you will have noticed, only the upper part of The Fairway was able to be surfaced as planned as the severe weather warning meant further surfacing scheduled for 31 July had unfortunately had to be cancelled. With these final drainage remedial works expected to take approximately two weeks (taking us to mid August) Bellway have instructed Owens the groundworkers to ramp up with tarmac around any raised ironworks etc on the area still waiting to be surfaced whilst these final drainage remedial works take place. We then propose to surface the whole remaining area of The Fairway in one go. This will unfortunately require the closure of The Fairway for one day and we will be in touch nearer the time to advise of the specific date and times for this.
