Landscaping

Carnoustie Drive - Work to prepare an area outside approximately 7-11 Carnoustie Drive for wildflower seeding continues this week, with a second round of spraying due to take place Monday, weather permitting. As before, glysophate spray will be used and this is considered safe for use by the HSE.

Once the effect of this last round of spraying has taken effect, the area will then be rotovated and prepared for seed, with seeding following shortly after. For your information:

• Grasses included in this mix are Brown Top Bent, Crested Dogs Tail, Slender Creeping Red Fescue and Timothy
• Common Names of the wildflowers included in this mix are Yarrow, Oxeye Daisy, Wild Carrot, Lady's Bedstraw, Bladder Campion, Agricultural Bird's Foot Trefoil, Ribwort Plantain, Cowslip, Selfheal, Meadow Buttercup, Yellow Rattle, Sorrel and Knapweed. 

Main open space - the second round of the mow/overseed/mow strategy on the main area of open space takes place this week. This is an approach recomended by the landscaper to address the perennial weeds. Once the area has been mown it will be scarified and overseeding will take place where required.

  

Reinstatement of small welfare cabin on Sunningdale Road

Owen's will this week reinstate a small welfare cabin in the compound area on Sunningdale Road in preparation for a final round of snagging due to take place over the next few weeks and into November. This cabin and compound will be removed at the end of the works and the area prepared for final landscaping.
